U.Dance 2020 is here once again. Applications are now officially open and we’re looking for youth dance works from different groups including schools groups, youth dance companies, private dance schools and community groups in any dance style including but not limited to Contemporary, Street, South Asian and Classical styles from across the East Midlands. We strongly encourage inclusive dance groups to apply.
Apply to get the chance to showcase your work at one of our five county events across the region and the potential of performing your work at the U.Dance 2020 national festival held in Glasgow between 17 – 19 July 2020, led by One Dance UK. For dates of the county events in 2020, click here.
To help with your applications this year we have created a U.Dance Good Practice Guide and video which provides applicants with helpful tips and hints for creating their U.Dance piece. We ask you to read the document and watch the video below before applying to U.Dance in the East Midlands.
How to Apply: To submit an application, please read the Guidance Notes here where you will find a link to an online application form. Please make sure your group meets the requirements set out in the Guidance Notes. The deadline for applications is 12 AM (Midnight) on Wednesday 20 November 2019.
U.Dance 2020 also brings new opportunities for groups to get involved with. In addition to the county events, groups can apply for New Dimensions and U.Dance on Screen.
New Dimensions offers youth groups the opportunity to present longer pieces of choreography between 7 – 15 minutes in length at a county platform, with the opportunity of applying the U.Dance 2020 national festival and U.Dance on Screen is an opportunity for groups to showcase work beyond their staged performances. Groups can apply to take part in one or more of these opportunities. More details can be found in the Other U.Dance Opportunities document.
