At the end of July, we have had the pleasure of having The Uncollective (Eve Stainton and Michael Kitchin) in residency with us for the first time.
Since meeting in 2013, The Uncollective have been working with cross disciplinary practices to create experimental work that recognises contemporary queer politics and provokes discussion.
The Uncollective are revisiting and rethinking their piece Augmented Superpile, which was created during residencies at TripSpace and Siobhan Davies Dance.
They are exploring using expanding foam and discovering how it may be repurposed as a queer substance that can inhabit an open space as opposed to its usual use as a sealant/filler. This is broadly questioning: who or what is deemed to be of ‘use’ from a queer perspective.
