Applications are open for Dance4’s research residency call outs. As iC4C starts to re-open its doors, we are offering:
– 4 residencies for dance artists from the East Midlands at iC4C
(under government guidelines),
– 4 remote residencies for artists from the UK.
Application Deadline for both opportunities: Sunday 9 August, 6pm.
Research Residency, East Midlands
An opportunity for East Midlands based dance artists to undertake a Research Residency at Dance4’s international Centre for Choreography (iC4C) whilst social distancing measures remain in place.
The selected artists will work closely with a member of the Dance4 producing team to devise a package of support and the right environment to nurture their practice.
We are offering 4 independent dance artists, whose interests align with Dance4’s priorities, the opportunity to be in residence.
Each residency includes:
– 5 consecutive days of studio space in-kind
– producing support in-kind, and £500 cash.

Remote Research Residency
Remote Research Residency is an opportunity for artists to carve out time and space to think, research, talk, reflect, listen and be heard.
Whilst Dance4 is not able to open iC4C to travelling visitors at present, we are able to support artists and their practice in other ways.
We are offering 4 independent dance artists from the UK the opportunity to be in remote residence from your own home or at a space near to you, with financial support of £1000 towards time and creative process.
Applicants interests must align with Dance4’s priorities.
In line with Dance4’s continual commitment to support a broad and diverse programme, these Remote Research Residencies are specifically targeted at people who identify as being from one of the following groups: Black, Asian or from a minority ethnic group; D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent; low socioeconomic; LGBTQI+.
