Body Space Image is Dance4’s second season of experimental dance and performance taking place in a range of venues in Nottingham throughout February and March.
Body Space Image presents innovative work with an emphasis on exploration and provides a testing ground for new idea in performance from some of the most exciting international dance, live art and performance artists.
The aim of the season is to both broaden the definition of dance and cross the boundaries between dance and visual art, live art, photography and theatre. Emerging performance artists will present work that is in development of newly made. More established artists will share work and expertise in the form of preview performances installations exhibitions and informal presentations. There is a chance to see French body modification artist Orlan give a lecture demonstration about her radical and often controversial work.
Among the many reasons for being excited about Body Space Image this year is that the first occasion we are acknowledging the support of Future Factory. Future Factory is a major project of the Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham City Council which enjoys the support of both the East Midlands Arts and the National Lottery.
