In October, we had George Stamos from Montréal with us for a two-week residency at iC4C.

With the first week of residency, George began research and Development on creating new work which will be a collaborative piece.

George’s second week of residency included an open sharing with dancers, Stacey Désilier and Jean-Benoit Labrecque from Montréal. Both Stacey and Jean-Benoit joined George as they collaborated and re-created his work Recurrent Measures. Originally using a cast of seven dancers George, Stacey and Jean-Benoit recreated the peice and adapted it to a cast of three. Following the show the audience were able to engage with the artists in a post show talk about the work, discussing the themes, motivation and work that culminated in re-creating and adapting the work.

George will be performing Recurrrent Measures with his collaborators at Biennale CINARS 2018 in Montréal.
