As a key element and focal point within The Dan Daw Show, we welcome you to an in-conversation discussion with the Artistic Director Dan Daw and The Dan Daw Show director Mark Maughan about POWER. POWER is ever present in all our social, work and political constructs. How do we use power? How is power used against us? When are we in a position of power? How is power perceived?
This is an open conversation looking at power dynamics that are at play, a chance to openly discuss the role of power in your life, or how you have felt empowered? Or to discuss how power has been taken from you.
Dan Daw and Mark Maughan will discuss the themes explored in The Dan Daw Show and offer the opportunity for you as members of the discussion to debate and talk about the powers at play.
This aims to reach all aged 16+ with an interest in this topic but may be of particular interest to D/deaf and/or disabled people engaging in the arts world as a performer, director, musician, film maker, visual artists or writer, both recreationally or professionally.
More about The Dan Daw Show
The Dan Daw Show is a peep into the shiny and sweaty push pull of living with shame while bursting with pride and sits somewhere between who Dan once was and who he wants to be. Burdened by the expectation for his messy body to be what it will never be, Dan finally takes back the power by being dominated on his own terms. This is a show about care, about intimacy, about resilience, and about letting go as Dan reclaims himself and his mess.
