A queer drag performance, CONSUBSTANTIATION creates an imaginary world of both gender and sexual ‘in-betweenness’ and their embodiment: a human body approaching an object-like gender.
The show is populated with glittery costumes hacking the body with geometrical objects and materials; where stylised choreographies give place to uncanny movement patterns; and where pop songs give place to blurry identity narratives sang as a dodecaphonic opera.
Produced by BARCO and coproduced by Weld, METAL, Dance4 and CND Centre National de la Danse. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and by Konstnärnämnden, Kulturrådet and Stockholmstad.
Presented in partnership with Backlit Gallery.
