This special double bill developed out of American choreographer Deborah Hay’s recent Solo Performance Commissioning Projects.
Sally and Matthias were invited to take part in Hay’s residency, to learn the solo score made by Hay. They then engaged in daily practice for a number of months during which time they developed their own adapatation of the work. The choreographic score always stays the same, but the artist’s precise movements result from perception of immediate environment including body, audience and time passing.

I Think Not
I Think Not is improvised in response to a strict structure and performance imperatives laid out by Hay. It collapses voice, song, movement and costume into an intimate performance in which Sally flirts with elegance, a touch of craziness and a subtle sense of wit.
Presented in partnership with De Montfort University.
