FABRIC’s Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) is a dedicated part-time training programme, created to nurture and support talented young people aged 11-18 years in either Contemporary or South Asian dance styles.

The scheme helps identify and assist aspiring young dancers, regardless of their personal circumstances, to benefit from world-class training opportunities preparing them for potential careers in dance.

FABRIC hosts 3 strands for the National Centres for Advanced Training (CAT) in dance:

  • Contemporary styles – for young people based in the East Midlands
  • Contemporary styles – for young people based in the West Midlands
  • South Asian styles (Yuva Gati) – for young people from throughout the UK

The National Dance CATs are supported through the Department for Education’s Music and Dance Scheme. Each CAT operates from a host organisation that is recognised for their excellence and commitment to the arts.

In addition to our Centre for Advanced training programmes, we are committed to offering high-quality dance experiences from an early age. See the below for what we have on offer.
