Applications for the Black British Dance Platform 2022 are now open.

The Black British Dance Platform is collaboration between Serendipity and Dance4, with the ambition to support and nurture dance artists from the African and African Caribbean Diaspora, who are based in England, with a desire to present work internationally.

Through the Black British Dance Platform 2022, Serendipity and Dance4 will showcase two independent artists/companies as part of Let’s Dance International Frontiers (LIDF) 2022 supported through Dance4’s Dance from England programme.

Successful applicants will receive:

– A performance fee of up to £1,300
– Travel, accommodation and rehearsal space, to be negotiated
– A one-week residency in preparation at Dance4, to be negotiated
– Performance opportunity Wed 4 May 2022, part of LIDF at Curve Theatre, Leicester
– The opportunity to attend CPD workshops and conferences
– 1-2-1 support to help guide your international objectives
– Access to a bursary for onward touring outside of the UK
– A paid invitation to join the selection process for the 2023 edition of the BBDP platform
– Advocacy and mentorship from Serendipity and Dance4
– Advice and guidance on pitching and marketing your work from Serendipity and Dance4
– Opportunities to build an industry network during the wider festival programme
