As we see out the final bank holiday marking the end of August, we are delighted to announce our Autumn season launch!
With plenty of performances, workshops at iC4C and the announcement of U.Dance 2019 platforms, you can have a look through our Autumn 2018 brochure to book tickets and find out more of what we have for you this season.
Following the success of Dance from England programme in 2016 at Tanzmesse, Dance4 are supporting independent artists and producers to share works in progress at this years German event. Dance4 have also offered 8 bursaries 6 artists and 2 producers to attend CINARS 2018 in Montréal this November.
With a number of performances throughout this Autumn we start with Canadian choreographer, George Stamos performing his powerfully engaging open studio performance, Recurrent Measures, taking place at iC4C.
Also at iC4C we continue our Sunday Supplement series, this time with Janine Harrington and, SOME TIMES and also Nora sharing, Where Home Is, all happening in November. Along with the Sunday Supplements Dance4 will host a Score Sunday event with Sally Doughty and Kimberley Harvey, exploring the rationale and challenges invilved in how artists across different art forms use scores to generate choregraphic material for performance. Kimberley will also be performing Inky Matter with Subtle Kraft Co. inviting the audience to see the body as an unsent letter.
You can join Sally Doughty again alongside Lisa Kendall and Rachel Krische as they comission a performance, Please Do Touch, which inhabits the New Walk Gallery and Museum. Tom Dale Company will also be performing I Infinite at the Council House
With plenty of opportunities for your own development, Katye Coe will be starting an inclusive monthly Open class from October. We have Sally Doughty delivering an Improvisation Masterclass and Ian Dolan will be hosting a week long series of Morning classes during his residency in December.
For those interested in CPD opportunities, Dance4 have Primary Teacher Training Event offering support and skills in developing dance delivery to primary school aged children. There will also be a CPD day event for Secondary level teachers, delivered by Stopgap Dance Company, followed by an Inclusive Dance Practice Twilight, also delivered by Stopgap Dance Company for those with an interest in inclusive dance practice.
The next in the series of Gathering events will also be taking place at Nottingham Playhouse. A professional development session and networking event for D/deaf and and/or disabled people interested in the creative arts.
Youth Dance Platforms
U.Dance 2019 gets underway with applications being open from September. Closing date for applications for 2018-19 will be Thursday 29 November.
Dance4’s CAT programme continues with the addition of new students starting this September. Welcome back to exisitng students and the new cohort. Dance4’s Jump Start programme will start back in September as well for children aged 7-11 with the aim to develop confidence, have fun and channel energy intro creativity.
Dance4’s CAT are offering FREE dance school workshops to Secondary Schools across the East Midlands, taking place during term time.
