Usha is a Creative Mentor and interdisciplinary artist combining visual arts, film  performance and movement in the fields of health, education and ecology. 

She has a background in textiles and is trained in somatic and developmental movement practices which include Skinner Releasing, Move-into-life, RMTi and Brain Gym®. Usha is inspired by the growing field of neuro-therapies and the understanding of the power of movement and sensory engagement to naturally support our learning potential, creativity, sense of embodiment and wellbeing. 

In 2002 she was nominated Nottinghamshire Environmentalist of the year and granted the Green Guardians award her film Heaven on Earth and the Tate ART Award in 2004, for work undertaken at the Arboretum Nursery Nottingham Artist in Residency. 2006 -10 she worked with the University of Nottingham on their Water Literacy research programme (in collaboration with Papplewick Pumping station, 5 pilot schools, and a team of Academics and Artists). Since 2010 Usha has also been Creative mentor with children in care – Virtual schools Derbyshire  + The Mighty Creatives (TMC).
