Konstantina Skalionta is a London-based dance artist, choreographer and co-producer of Kaleidoscopic Arts. She is an alumna of Central School of Ballet (BA, 2011) and the London Contemporary Dance School (MA, 2018).
Her inspiration draws personal experiences of family, home, body image and the sense of belonging, transforming them into something universal. She is interested in shaping a direct, engaging and eventually intriguing bond between herself as performer and the audience during the performance as well as the creative process.
She has presented work in festivals and platforms in UK and Cyprus such as Resolution (The Place), Fiver Fridays (Chisenhale Dance Space), Swallowsfeet Festival etc., and commissioned to create work for the Women of Mass Destruction 2 (RichMix), the 15th Cyprus Contemporary Dance Platform, and the Surrey Dance Festival (2014). She was selected Emerging Choreographer for the choreographer’s observership programme by OneDanceUK (2017), and an invited artist to the Development Lab (2016) by the Lyric Theatre and the Dance House Lefkosia residency programme (2015).
