Katharine has worked as a dance & theatre practitioner for 30 years. They grew up in Leicester and, after completing a BA in Expressive Arts at Brighton University, trained at NSCD.

They co-ran the East Midlands based Scrannidge dance theatre company, devising and touring original works nationally and internationally, with related educational packages. They created numerous productions, for the public, on school & college students (of diverse ages), community and special needs groups.

Katharine has performed with Emilyn Claid, Biserk, Candoco, Company Pyke and Gecko, however, the main thrust of their work has been in choreography / directing and latterly, teaching.

They taught, for instance, at Trinity Laban (physical theatre for dancers and choreography) and The National Centre for Circus Arts – (movement technique, performance skills & choreography).

They have worked in film and as a photographer. They are also a qualified life coach which informs and fuels their drive to facilitate freedom of expression and confidence, along with the joy generated through movement, physical theatre and improvisation.

Their passion is to give people belief in their physicality and creative ideas, the tools to explore and express them and the benefits that come from that process. They always aim to provide learning opportunities that are accessible and which are delivered with humour and warmth. They approach their teaching work from the standpoint that creativity and self expression need careful nurturing and preservation.
