This Autumn Ian Dolan and Louisa Robey are working with Dance4 to host an inaugural forum for artists based in the East Midlands. They’ll begin by offering artists, practitioners, dancers and freelancers a chance to (re)connect and join them in an open and constructive conversation about the network in the region and how artists can join together to bring about a stronger dance ecology.

The initial meeting has now been confirmed to take place on Wednesday 22 August, 4-6pm at iC4C, Nottingham.

All artists from the East Midlands are welcome to attend however, to help us prepare accordingly, please confirm your attendance via email to Hannah.

The long term ambition for the network is for it to become a support system for the wealth of artists in the East Midlands to meet, share, collaborate and learn from each other but also, though discussion as a group, identifying the deeper engagement opportunities needed.

The initial forum is an opportunity to talk openly about the wishes and needs of local artists and gain an understanding of what an ongoing network might look like.  It aims to cover topics such as continued professional development, class provision, skill gaps/sharing, networking, production support and discourse as well as any other thoughts and opinions brought to the table.
