We’re delighted to announce that Si Rawlinson has been selected as the artist for the Dance from England and Unity Space Hong Kong residency exchange.

Si is a Hong Kong born, mix British East-Asian dancer and theatre-maker. He’s a Breakthrough Artist at Curve Theatre, Leicester, and Artistic Director of Wayward Thread. His work uses a mix of hip-hop styles and contemporary dance, making political theatre that explores compassion, identity, and our dissonant relationship with a rapidly changing world.

He has performed internationally, and across the UK at leading venues like Southbank Centre, Roundhouse, Barbican, Sadler’s Wells and The Place. Si also teachers dance at De Montfort University between performing.

Si will join Hong Kong based artist Kenneth Sze Cheuk-Yin at Unity Space this November for the first part of the exchange. They will also have the opportunity to attend the City Contemporary Dance Festival.

The reciprocal residency will happen here at Dance4’s iC4C in Spring 2020. More information can be found here.
