Dance4 CAT
Dance4 CAT is the new Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) in the East Midlands. It is run by Dance4 on behalf of the Government Department for Children, Schools and Families. CAT has been created in order to nuture and support those of you with exceptional potential, ambition and determination to become professional dance artists. For more information please click here.
U.Dance :Stimulating Dance Performance Across England
As part of our regional role, we are working in collaboration with YDE and various partners to pilot U.Dance in the region.U.Dance is the national programme which aims to give every child and young person in England the opportunity to take part in a dance performance each year. U.Dance works with existing platforms from across the districts, county and region to ensure that their is clear progressions routes for young people to access performance opportunities.As part of U.Dance each County will have a Dance Host who is best equipped to work in collaboration with the County/District partners to deliver U.Dance.
Please note that due to the implementation of U.Dance there will be no emerge- regional youth dance platform and National Youth Dance Festival. All registered platform events for the region can be found on the U.Dance website Calendar.
U.Dance East Midlands
Over 700 people ventured out this Mother’s Day to see more than 200 local and regional youth dancers perform at the Curve theatre in Leicester. Dance4, the international dance centre in Nottingham, presented the event for the first time this year to a rapturous audience who enjoyed the performances onstage and off-stage in a festival atmosphere.
