Young Leaders Programme

We have a dedicated strand for Children and Young People embedded in our programme of work.

The strand aims to focus on increase your knowledge and practice in preparing you for leadership and enterprise, by offering personalised training.

We have a strong emphasis on skills development, preparing you for work and careers in the cultural industries. We are currently running a 1 year Creative Apprentice programme, as well as other internships, work placements and volunteering opportunities for you within our programmes.

Your voices and creativity are at the heart of our future and we want to give you the best chance to achieve your individual and artistic potential.

We are working with the following groups of young people from across the region as part of this programme;

  • The Corby Young Promoters (in Partnership with the Core, Corby)
  • Guthlaxton College (in Partnership with The Spark Children's Arts Festival)
  • Ellesmere College (in Partnership with Embrace Arts)
  • Gedling Young Leaders Forum

Young Associate

The Mighty Creatives (TMC – organization working across the East Midlands to champion young people’s creativity and innovation) and Dance4 (East Midlands Dance Development Organisation) are going to be working with a young artist/project leader to engage with two exciting programmes in the East Midlands, Big Dance and World Event Young Artists (WEYA), Sharing my City programme.

Ariarna Thomas

I’ve been dancing since I was a young girl, and as the years have gone on due to experiences and opportunaties I have been lucky enough to have, I have grown to love dance more and more. I am 17 and currently studying for my A levels, as well as being a part of Dance4′s CAT.

Danielle Wilkinson

I’ve danced through life since the age of 5 and have grown a very strong passion for the arts over the years. Dance is a large part of my life and theres nothing I love better than performing on stage or being involved in a production. My role as a regional young dance leader is perfect for me and I look forward to taking on the challenge!
