THE ROYAL BALLET - MANSFIELD PATHFINDER

We are proud to say that Dance4 are working in partnership with The Royal Ballet School to support selected primary and secondary schools in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire with the delivery of an exceptionally high standard creative introduction to ballet classes.

The programme will use the unique resources of The Royal Ballet School along with the support of Dance4 in two strands; primarySTEPS and aDvANCE group. It is aimed at broadening opportunities for young people to explore and develop skills and knowledge in dance and ballet. 

The Primary strand operates in specially selected centres around the country: Dagenham, Swindon, Blackpool, Bury St Edmunds and Mansfield. Children remain on the programme for four years and are monitored through out.

Dance4 work with The Royal Ballet School to present opportunities for young people in Mansfield as well as offering future progression routes in dance. 

The same 5 or 6 participating primary schools are selected every year to deliver a six week programme of workshops in schools for all Year 3’s. The practical delivery is presented in the following primary schools in Mansfield:

Robin Hood, St. Edmunds C o E, Leas park, Peafield Lane and Northfield.

Through out their time on the programme, every effort is made to signpost students into suitable further dance opportunities, which may include local Key Stage 3 gifted and talented groups, local Centre for Advanced Training and The Royal Ballet Junior Associates.
