Dance4 CAT students join the National Youth Dance Company

Dance4 is incredibly proud to announce that another 3 of the Dance4 Centre for Advanced Training students have successfully auditioned and gained places with the prestigious National Youth Dance Company.

The company, based at the UK’s leading dance house Sadler’s Wells, extensively led workshops and auditions across England to select new dancers to join the company and work closely with new Guest Artistic Director Damien Jalet

These 3 students join one other Dance4 CAT student who will be continuing with the company for a third year having successfully auditioned and worked with 2014-2015 Guest Artistic Director Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and 2015-16 Guest Artistic Director Michael Keegan-Dolan.

Students will continue their training with Dance4 CAT and will fit NYDC into their training plan. We look forward to following the company's progress and wish our dancers lots of luck as they embark on this exciting year.

In Jalet’s new commission the company of 39 young dancers present a unique piece of theatre which addresses themes of melancholia, ritual, control and abandon. Jalet’s revered choreographic style combined with the young dancers’ energy and talent is set to produce a mesmerising experience that shifts the consciousness of the audience.

The production premiered at Sadler’s Wells on Wednesday 19 April 2017 and will then tour across the country during June and July 2017.
