Dance4 is offering Emergency Support for dance professionals in the East Midlands region, with payments of £250 offered to those who truly need it. The scheme ran on a rolling weekly basis up to 29 June 2020 and is now closed.
Are you an independent artist, practitioner or producer working in dance, based in the East Midlands and in need of emergency cash? Are you perhaps ineligible or waiting for payments from other means of support and experiencing hardship during this time?
Dance4 is very fortunate to have financial security during these times of great uncertainty for many. We are able to safeguard our business, to pay our staff and pay all freelance artists that were due to undertake activity with Dance4 that has had to be cancelled.
Dance4 has allocated some financial reserves so that we can offer 32 payments of £250 to those who truly need it. Independents working in dance that are based in the East Midlands can apply if they are facing immediate hardship due to their planned work being cancelled because of the pandemic.
Recipients of our support will be asked to contribute one day of work to Dance4 in the next 12 months. We see this as a great way to build new or further develop relationships and ideas for the future.
If this fund speaks to you, we want to support you. No proof of hardship will be required, only trust. We understand that a lot of people need help, and this is a small pot for emergency situations, so please consider your position in line with others who might be struggling. This is not to cover bills that can be deferred, it is a real need for basics such as food. If you answer yes to the statements outlined below we are happy to receive your request for emergency support.
If you are in a fortunate position, and instead can offer funds to support those working in dance in the East Midlands who are in need, we are looking for generous donations so that we can extend this offer to more people. If this is you, please visit the Dance4 Emergency Support Just Giving page. Please add gift aid if you are eligible to make your donation go even further.
