New qualification for dance artists and practitioners

Dance4 is delighted to announce that it is one of the first registered centres in England, working across the East Midlands to deliver the new Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (Children and Young People). Dance4 is working with De Montfort University, Leicester and a range of training partners across the East Midlands region to support candidates (dance artists, teachers and practitioners) to undertake the qualification from September 2010.

What is the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (Children and Young People)?

Designed for practitioners working with children and young people outside formal education, this new diploma is an initiative of the Dance Training and Accreditation Partnership (DTAP) led by Youth Dance England. It awards 90 credits at Level 6 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), which is the comparable level to a BA (Hons) Degree.

Dance4 - a registered centre

Dance4 will register candidates for the diploma with Trinity College London, provide guidance to support candidates in preparing for assessment and advise them on where they can access training to develop their knowledge and skills.

After a comprehensive training needs analysis based on current skills, experience and knowledge, Dance4 will signpost diploma candidates to training providers across the region who will be delivering high-quality activities to help you build up portfolios. This will result in an individually tailored programme to enable candidates to get the very best support and guidance to successfully pass the qualification.
