Sharing Platform
Monday 19 May 2008
Sandfield Theatre, Nottingham
Following the success of the first sharing, we organised a second Platform for those who had been unable to present work in the March event. It was a private sharing of work and was again, full of shenanigans. This opportunity was for regional artists and those with a connection to Dance4 and was aimed at sharing work with fellow artists and practitioners in front of a small invited audience. The aim of the platform was to support and develop the making of dance and performance work in our region, with a focus on the development of artists work - in line with the whole of our SHIFT programme.
The line up was as follows;
Alice Tatge
Chaos Dance Company
Chris Dugrenier
Miriam Keye
Melissa Hymas
Laure Bachelot
We also invited international artist Matthias Sperling (UK), a Dance4 associate artist, to join us in giving feedback to the artists on a one-to one basis.
'It was a very nice experience [I felt] I was in a professional environment
where people knew what to do and all had been taken care of…The
strength of preparation gave me total confidence and the headspace
to just focus on my part'
Chris Dugrunier
'It was an opportunity to value the work of dance and theatre practitioners
in the U.K. and promote an artistic dialogue: that is what I call
food for the soul'
Alice Tatge
