Workshops
We want UK artists to make the most of the professional development opportunities that nottdance can offer, so with that in mind we have programmed two workshops led by some of this year's festival artists.
Rachel Krische (UK)
Date: Sunday 18th October
Time: 1.00-4.00pm
Venue: Dance4 studio
Price: £10.00 / £7.00
Back by popular demand, established independent artist Rachel Krische will be leading this professional workshop aiming to share the ideas and technique that underpin her practice.
The afternoon will focus on the creative tools Rachel used to shape The Swimmer her collaboration with American artist Deborah Hay. In particular she will explore improvisation as a way of informing all types of choreography, deepening the awareness of the performer and the experience of live performance.
Oblivia: Annika Tudeer and Anna Krzystek (Finland / UK)
Date: Saturday 24th October
Time: 10.00am-1.00pm
Venue:College Street Centre
Price: £10.00 / £7.00
Oblivia's working process begins with a grand idea. One that is so grand at first that it seems impossible to handle. Through diligent and persistent deliberation they begin to filter their grand idea until it becomes tangible. It is a process of observation, seeing and connecting, finding ways to communicate their concerns and concepts through performance.
This workshop, led by company members Annika Tudeer and Anna Krzystek will focus on themes related to Entertainment Island 1, Oblivia's working process and on sharing information that can be used to enhance and support personal artistic practice.
