SHIFT
SHIFT offers a range of training opportunities, including workshops, classes and performance platforms to artists, practitioners and anyone delivering dance within education settings. From September 08 we will be offering phase two of our programme, which is a 9-month training package, enabling participants to create their own tailored training programme from a menu of workshops.
During the festival, we offer regional artists and practitioners a chance to explore the practice and process of some of artists coming to the festival. This includes:
Improvisation session with Kate McIntosh

Level: Advanced- this is ideal for dance students and those with tow
or more years of experience within a professional environment.
SHIFT monthly improvisation starts again with nottdance artist Kate
McIntosh.
Kate will explore how she creates material thanks to improvisation
strategies involving different physical states and language leading
to work such as her solo performance All Natural performed on 17 October
(see page).

Taldans choreographer and dancer, Filiz Sizanli will be leading this professional workshop aiming to share the questions that underpin the company’s creative process. The workshop will focus on the modulation of the body in action and its relation to the voice as it can be seen in the piece Taldans perform in nottdance and which they have explored even more in the making of their new piece.
nottdance Artists Forum with store - Cancelled
nottdance08 has started and we hope you are planning to come down to one of the many shows we have in this years programme. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Store one of the shows in this years line up has had to be cancelled. We found a lovely store for our store but in the end the location fell through and despite our best efforts to find a new location, we have had to take the sad decision to cancel the show for nottdance08.
We are sorry for any disappointment, and we hope we may be able to bring it to you sometime in the future. In the meantime, we hope you can enjoy the rest of this exciting festival. To avoid any further potential disappointment, please make sure you book your tickets for the festival, there are several shows reaching sell out and we’d hate to have to turn anyone away!
