Paul Burns Appointed Associate Director at Dance4

Dance4 is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Burns as Associate Director.

He will join Dance4 at their Nottingham base, international Centre for Choreography (iC4C) from August 2017 until July 2018.

Paul joins the team at Dance4 as the organisation embarks on a new chapter in the development of its festival Nottdance and realising the potential of their move to iC4C. For the last year Paul has worked as Associate Director at Greenwich Dance during Kat Bridge’s maternity leave. He was previously Interim Artistic Director at Yorkshire Dance, and also maintains a freelance consultancy practice across a range of artforms. Paul brings a wealth of experience and an impressive track record in producing and curating festivals, supporting organizational development and the championing of independent artists’ work. The team and board at Dance4 are delighted he is joining the team at this exciting time for the organisation.

Paul Russ Dance4’s Artistic Director and Chief Executive says:

  • This will be a great opportunity for Paul to use his experience in further strengthening the Dance4 proposition, to ensure that we are prepared and future-proofed for the exciting developments ahead.

Paul Burns also said:

  • I have long admired Dance4’s work with artists, especially those exploring the radical edges of dance and choreography. I’m really excited to be joining the team and supporting this work, especially within the extraordinary facilities of iC4C.

This announcement follows Dance4’s recent success in securing NPO investment for 2018-2022 from Arts Council England.
