Everyone is welcome to Splash Dance the Free Family Big Dance festival.
Come and Camp from Saturday afternoon and enjoy the FREE activities for the whole family through Saturday evening leading into the main events all day on Sunday 8 July 2012 as part of National Big Dance week (7-15 July).
Dance4 in partnership with the Big Dance East Midlands Partnership has commissioned the widely acclaimed, ever popular New Art Club to choreograph an extraordinary performance which will be the highlight of the Sunday line up. Often described as the Reeves and Mortimer of dance, choreographers Pete Shenton and Tom Roden have selected groups and performers from around the region to perform in their comedy cabaret spectacular. The company will transform the white water course into an outdoor amphitheatre, creating an extravaganza based around greek mythology of the 12 Labours of Hercules, with performances at 1pm and 4pm.
How to get there:
By Car:
The National Water Sports centre in located on off the A52 (Radcliffe Road) heading out of Nottingham City towards Lincolnshire. The Centre is well signposted, so look out for signposts and a left turning if you are heading from city.
The nearest motorway junction is the M1 Junction 24, then follow the A453 towards Nottingham, turning right onto the A52 which will lead you to the Radcliffe Road.
If you are using a navigation system please use the National Water Sports Centre as a point of interest, and not the postcode.
By Train:
The nearest Railway station is Nottingham.
By Bus:
There is a Number 11 Bus which leaves from Angel Row in the City. get off at the last stop and continue to walk along the A52, turning left into the watersports centre.
Once you enter the site there will be plenty of stewards to direct you to the right entrance point.

9:45am 'Morning Campers' wake up dance session for everyone.

BIG TOP
Big Dance in the Big Top includes a full programme of performnces for and by children and young people.

SPLASH DANCE SANCTUARY
Feel inspired, healthy and unwind in the Splash Dance Sanctuary.
HIGHLIGHTS
11am-11:45am Movement session for Parents, carers and their under 5's.
12pm-12:45pm Come and join the Theatre Royal's 55+ dance group for a 30-minute class followed by a Heroes inspired dance piece.
2pm-3pm Tea dance suported by Decade of Better Health, open to all.
Pampering sessions throughout the day.
LOCAL HEROES STAGE
The Local Heroes stage hosts the best from the region's comunity performers.
HIGHLIGHTS
11am Nottingham's Got Talent performers serenade and entertain audiences with song, dance, acrobatics and beatboxing.
12:15pm Get on your feet with Samba sounds.
2:45pm Clash of the Styles: Street Battle
VINTAGE MARKET
Pop up Nottingham presents a variety of craft, fashion, jewellery and cake stalls showcasing the best in local art and craft talent from 11am onwards.
MOBILE TMC MEDIA HUB
Mobile TMC is a unique air filled structure that hosts the media hub for Splash Dance. The exciting Journals project is led by The Mighty Creatives, who are an East Midlands bridge organisation, and they wil be joined by Dance4's Young Associate.
A group of young people will record stories about the festival using digital media, film, documentation, live broadcasts and social media feeds in the Mobile TMC. Don't miss an interactive dance performance inspired by Girl Walk / / All Day, an epic dance and music film presented by Broadway Cinema. Full screening of the film will be shown Sunday 1 July at Broadway Cinema, Nottingham.
WATER SPORTS
For all you water sports fans The National Water sports Centre will present the Junior GB rowing trials on the main lake and if you want to get your adrenalin pumping watch the Stunt Kayaks cascade and tumble down the White Water Course throughout Sunday 8 July.
