Dance4, Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery, Nottingham Castle Trust and dance artist Lucy Suggate are looking for individuals to contribute towards the development of an exciting project taking place at Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery 22 – 24 September 2017.

Ways of Seeing, Ways of Being is a weekend of activities to enhance the visitors’ experience of the 19th century picture gallery at Nottingham Castle, using movement to provide a new context for viewing and engaging with the art collection.

As part of this weekend Lucy will be remounting Swarm Sculptures; which is a durational movement installation based around bodies constructing sculptural forms. Using choreographic instructions we will explore how simple patterning can encourage the transformation of the human form. With an interest in adapting swarm principles for live performance and looking at the body as sculpture. Swarm Sculptures is a return to simplicity to communal activity that produces mesmerizing actions and patterns.

We are seeking participants with a broad range of experiences, mostly with a passion and keen interest in live performance from ages 18 and upward.
