Welcome to CAT

Dance4 CAT is the new Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) in the East Midlands. It will be run by Dance4 on behalf of the Government Department for Children, Schools and Families. CAT had been created in order to nuture and support those of you with exceptional potential, ambition and determination to become professional dance artists.

Creativity will be an essential part of all the aspects of Dance4 CAT. It will determine how we teach you as well as what we teach you. We want to empower you to take ownership of your own learning and development as future artists. The curriculum will be very varied, giving you the opportunity to learn a wide range of dance skills, experience different approaches to dance, collaborate with practitioners from other art forms and perform at and in an assortment of locations and contexts.

Creative projects, combined with physical and technical training, will be at the centre of the curriculum, helping you to develop your skills as an intelligent, reflective and innovative dancer and choreographer. The ultimate aim of CAT is to ensure you reach your full potential as a successful dance artist of the future.
