£5.00 / £3.00 Conc.
Duration: 60min

We had the pleasure of presenting Martin's work, ja, ja – der dritte mann , as part of not-nottdance in May 2007 and we really wanted to show more of his work. Although this piece is still in the making, we are very excited about the chance to have a sneak preview.

In this piece, Martin and his father are the main protagonists. Martin sees the father-son relationship as a ‘constellation' that has changed a lot during recent years due to changes of gender roles in the work place, family and society as a whole. Repeater approaches this relationship by looking at the bodies of the two men, dealing with their different movement possibilities and respective physical limitations. In this performance, the chronological principle of time is reversed. It is no longer a question of the son repeating the behaviour of the father, but rather can the father repeat the behaviour of his son? Can the father imitate, learn and repeat his son's movement patterns and improvisation scores? This questions the very notion of time as an ordered line of events.

This sharing shows the piece in the middle of its rehearsal period, shedding some light on the progress made so far.
